2023 NJ Judges Course

1st Session: 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Dinner Break: 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm
2nd Session: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

If you would simply like to "audit" the course, you are more than welcome! Please, just drop by.
If you would like to take the course and be eligible for judging assignments please,
1.) Register with the National Gymnastics Judges Association (NGJA). Creating or renewing a membership will cost $25.
2.) Register for the NJ course under 2023_NJ_LucarelloLenny_RosellePark.
(At the course we will help you prepare for your judging exam.)
Whether you are actively looking to judge or just want to learn, bring a pen and paper! We will be having an interactive session and you will certainly want to take a few notes.
Course Details:
This course will be broken down into two separate sessions:
1st Session:
This session will be geared towards our novice judges. We will be going over judging from the very beginning. Zero previous experience is expected and we will be moving at a commensurate pace.
Dinner break!
2nd Session:
This session will be geared towards our more experienced professionals. We will be reviewing material with the presumption that a basic understanding of the rules are in place.

Other items to consider:
While we hope that this course is informative, it will not be exhaustive. If you would like to judge, individual study will be required.
Additionally, if you are serious about judging we highly recommend you attend the National Course, as presented by the Eastern Gymnastics Judges Association (EGJA).
This course is not just for judges. We encourage all coaches to attend! Bring your questions and further understand your athlete's scores.
Individuals 16 and older are encouraged to attend. 16 year old's are permitted to judge! Even if athletes don’t want to judge, this course can be helpful towards their competitive career.
If you would like us to review videos of your athletes, please share content with info@njusagmag.org. Videos will only be presented live at the course and will not be distributed. Due to privacy issues no video taping of routines will be permitted. Additionally, submitted content is not guaranteed to be included during presentations.
